Alex was invited to participate in the CRA Academic Conference – 2023 organized by the C.R.A Rest and Addiction Center and which will take place on October 25, 26 and 27.

In his talk, Alex will discuss the topic of artificial intelligence in mental health diagnosis, where he will talk about the importance of measuring the volume of the hippocampi of the brain and the application of artificial intelligence algorithms for its characterization and diagnosis of mental diseases related to it.

The volume of the hippocampus is a biomarker that allows the detection of diseases such as Alzheimer’s, dementia, or hyperactivity in children, so its measurement is of great importance. Artificial intelligence is a powerful tool, and it has the ability to assist medical specialists to perform tasks such as segmentation of the hippocampus in magnetic resonance images (MRI), and subsequent volume measurement. Alex will show the work carried out by INSPIRE Foundation to apply artificial intelligence algorithms in hippocampal segmentation and the results that have been achieved.
